Invest in a Woman
This International Women’s Day/ Month, Breathing Art Studio is making a simple but powerful commitment:
We will invest in a woman.
Not because she is perfect.
Not because she is famous.
But because she is building something that matters.
Across Ghana, women are quietly building businesses, creative practices, cultural initiatives, and community solutions. Often with limited resources, but with extraordinary determination.
Through The Matriarch’s Investment, Breathing Art Studio will support one woman whose vision deserves momentum.
Because when you invest in a woman, you are not funding a person.
You are funding possibility.

The Declaration
Applicants will not submit a traditional application.
Instead, they will record a 45 – 60 second video declaration beginning with the line:
“I am a woman building…”
Participants will share the future they are working toward and end their declaration with:
“This is what your investment will become.”
The declaration is not a pitch.
It is a moment of courage.
A voice claiming space.
The Investment
One selected woman will receive:
• The Matriarch’s Investment Grant – GHS 3,500 seed funding
• A mentorship session with the Breathing Art Studio
• Visibility across Breathing Art Studio platforms & within the Studio’s network
• Connection to the BAS creative and entrepreneurial network
Selected finalists may also be featured across BAS platforms as part of the campaign storytelling.
Who Can Apply
Applicants should:
• Identify as a woman based in Ghana
• Be actively building a project, enterprise, or initiative within the Creative and Cultural Industries (CCIs)
• Demonstrate commitment to their work through a body of practice, project, or portfolio

Applicants do not need to have a formally registered business or organisation, and women at any stage of their journey are welcome to apply.
The investment is however intended, for women who have begun the journey and are ready to move forward.
Creative Element
Applicants are encouraged to include a visual symbol of their work in their video declaration.

Why This Matters
Breathing Art Studio believes that the most powerful investments are not always the largest.
Sometimes the most meaningful investment is simply being seen, heard, and supported at the right moment.
This International Women’s Day, we are listening.
And we are investing.
